Some of us do not have those things bleeping and blarting at us and it is possible to get rid of them. Not only that these devices they listen to every word that is uttered and the emf they create is simply not on. Any of the devices I have eradicated and the most recent was a mobile phone, prior to this it was a receive and call only with text phone on purpose, no gps none of that, no photos, no apps. It's all back to old school with a desktop computer that is wired in, no microphone or camera abilities. Even the router has no emf coming from it as it's wired in. Got rid of the hands free land line phone also and went old school with one on a cord. One is able to do this it is possible with some sacrifice but it is all so worth it. Also we will not own a smart anything in our home which is very rural with limited mobile phone signal strength. Health overall is so much better and we literally feel the emf when we go into heavy civilization, it's shocking and draining. The only way to think straight is take a B12 spray with us as the EMF seems to knock that out of the body.

Oh this is such a great post! Thank you for sharing the concept of hyper reality. This is the first I've heard the term and it is exactly what I was needing to see. Will be diving deeper on the topic.

not to float your boat ADV but this is the best artical i have ever read on substack in general ---------Baudrillard hyperreality ( The represenation has grown in importance over the reality it purports to depict ) WOW !!!!! this man is as brilliant as it gets---- i must admit this statement is going to take me some extreme contemplation to get my head wraped around but what a most joyful mental place to be ------- OH !! and by the way your statement on AI is most chilling to the bone and completely accurate ------- your are the only individual i have shared this with ( because no one would care anyway )))0 but cocerning AI -------- my personal most terrifiying thought on AI is the FINE LINE that the general public has no idea or mental concept that AI is not intellegence or human and as each day passes that fine line disapates into ASYMPTOTE ------------- to barrow your most expansive vocabulary etc ----------- and i am looking forward to the meditation app thanks for the heads up on that one ------ thank you for shareing your most deep inner thoughts of contemplation on a subject no one is addressing in any form at least that i am aware of

The mind-trap that operates a self & world set in image (or representations of symbols & concepts set in our own image) is revealing itself - not least by its 'tipping point' to meaninglessness or joylessness. That the mind uses loss of Soul-connection as a basis for manipulative redistribution of psychic energy can replace an unfolding of living potential with a self-cannibalising game of pass the blame-parcel running musical chairs against time running out.

Time does wind up or run out when the mind is unable to buy time against eternity (ie: Always). Why? Because the game has to be worth the candle. But when the game is played to mask over or hide the light, its defences operate survival against the light - living in fear of exposure or feared disclosure. Is that not an alien agenda?

Living the unfolding of potentials embraces a gratitude and release of a past as well as being informed or shaped by our future. But a problem driven (guilted) sense of self-lack stamps its presentation into a future-scape of masking denials and dissociating solutions - a death mask of 'control' that drives on fear to unconsciousness as freedom from conflict.

However we may envision or articulate our times, the themes acting out are not merely archetypal unfolding of inner conflicts to cyclic mutative repetitions but to an awareness of re-cognition or remembership of a whole.

All the king’s horses and all the king’s men can never put fragmented dissociation together again - but the recognition of failure as an inherent futility allows the release of the a-tempt to fix ourselves within an assumption of self-autonomy in place of creative extension.

To be 'made in the image of God' can be rendered falsely by projection onto God of our own mythic or narrative identifictions.

Rather than speak into that, let not knowing or release of assumed knowing, open an acceptance through which to be 'spoken' out of wholeness. The uncarved block as the foundation stone is also the recognition of other as self - yet uniquely themself or itself - here is the gift of renewal.

But also here is where we meet our 'resistance' in patterns of judgemental, reactive defences or hates. No one can release what they are actively disowning - and certainly not by denying or attacking it in the other.

Against all of the 'soul-crushing' experience of our journey into Separation-conflict is a still small voice of a quality of knowing that is holy or wholly without judgement. The intuitive discernment of which is the freedom of release from 'knowledge of good and evil' to an appreciation of truth.

Replacements or substitution for living qualities of shared being find welcome in socially reinforced masking presentation., that then take on the nature of automatons or self-driven programming.

A.I or machine-think is a tool, but the tool is always the extension of the hand, heart and purpose of its maker - however ingeniously masked or outsourced to external operators.

Knowing joy in purpose is a qualitative signature for willingness through which the 'Sprit moves over the waters'. There's never anywhere to start from but where we are, but we can set our starting point in a denied or broken past or an idealised set of future conditions - so as to delay, defer and procrastinate in ways to set pain of loss of wholeness into processes of masking evasions. No blame. The only need for seeing error is to yield or release it to correction.

Fixation on evils as fascinated addiction to 'conflict-dynamics' is a spell or curse given & received in place of a blessing. Am I out of my mind!?

If I think I have to 'do' love's blessing I take the bait of a-tempt to love (in) my own image.

In that sense narcissism is systemic, internalised and invisible but in those who are less able or willing to conceal or mask a means to 'get' energy from others by 'caring' set in ritually coded credits. No blame in a mistake from which to learn a better way to be. So living our consequences is not punishment but a path of reintegration.

The habit of a misalignment or mis-taken identity fades within the growing willingness to be aligned in

I completely agree with you here. I became aware of what you described while on vacation and realizing I'd lost 2 hours while scrolling on my phone. I too, turn off notifications for all my apps. I also, purposefully, limit my phone time, and the apps I spend time on. During 2020 we sold our home and moved into our camper to ride out Bidens destruction of our country, feeling hopeful that, housing would eventually get to affordable. I wash dishes by hand and feel connected to my roots. And meditation is a total game changer, especially when you connect to God during your meditation. Thanks for the reminder Amanda, keep up the good work. And thanks for DMSO and it's uses!

An aptly resonating and timely reflection Amanda. Thanks

I just got back from a walk along estuary and beach and wondered how I was to spend the few hours before my mum, with dementia, is returned into my care.

Yes, to go on the internet was most likely..but the reason 'why'... vague.

I aired my dissatisfaction this morning...mirroring what you say...a tiredness of the interminable commentary and keeping abreast activity become 'de rigueur' for some of us since March 2020 when antennaes vibrated uncomfortably.

The digital stress is reduced for sure in my keeping my smart phone in the drawer ( I turn on infrequently when its camera can assist me ). Notifications as you say are the bane of our lives. It is modified form of Fomo we let dictate. I just have my laptop as enslaver; but the funny thing about this is that the battery is discharged, so laptop has to be plugged in, and the reality is that it will randomly go into hibernation without warning. Is this in effect, my reminder?... the internet cannot be taken for granted...do not get over-attached!

Re: Hyper Reality..."The truth is becoming obscured amid a sea of opinions, false narratives, propaganda, and divergent storylines ". I would say 'remains obscured'...but the youngsters are taking truth to next levels of obscurity with their worship of fakery... preparing themselves for the virtual world, with any sense of authenticity as a guiding concept increasingly jettisoned to the wind.

I get what you say entirely re being with people in person. Anything less, IS less. In fact I am counteracting my lacking sense of connection via laptop (and in everyday parlance) by going on a series of Tantra weekends. After all, the only way we get through the current state of play going on for humanity is by focus on self, and on self in relation to others. (and let it not be a "clutch at a Now"...but .... "authentically living it, driven by [yours truly] innate quest for meaning, relevance, connection, and love". So it would fit in with your angle on solutions....

A stimulating essay Amanda...I could say more...but, ha ha, I want to listen live to Neil Oliver on the telly. If dont watch live, I wont bother to check later on internet. One time when TV actually has currency over the internet! Well he is challenging of the malfeasant narrative...if only going so far, not that bit further. But as on a mainstream channel his views are getting wider audience, so all power to that.

After the watch of his monologue, back to "contemplative and quiet lately. Watching. Thinking. Listening. Looking."

Cheers

Thank you for the suggestion about dividing the days into segments for various purposes. I’ve been thinking about this myself lately, as a semi-retired person with very little structure in my time, and having found that in my main line of work, professional editing, I am being replaced by robots (ChatGPT etc.). It’s so easy to get caught up in being on a screen instead of doing things I need to do, including doing nothing for part of each day.

I think an aspect of “Lockdown” was to purposefully dismantle people’s sense of time - and we’ve all been doing the limbo in purgatory ever since...it’s called disjuncture- and one can’t be reset until one’s reality is upset

And yes, the internet is a loosh/lose/louche/loosen

proposition ...
