Supplementing with Pyridoxal 5’-Phosphate ensures patients receive the most bioactive form of vitamin B6.

Is also important for people who actually have extremely high B6 with no apparent reason and should take this form of B6.

MTHFR Gene Mutation

Paradoxically, one of the signs of having the genetic mutation is that those affected can have high folic acid, high Vitamin B12 Levels, or Vitamin B6 Toxicity. However, despite these high levels, they actually have intracellular deficiencies! In fact, the study Neurometabolic Disorders: Potentially Treatable Abnormalities in Patients With Treatment-Refractory Depression and Suicidal Behavior showed that many people with depression have normal folate levels in their blood, but have low CEREBRAL levels of folate, which may be contributing to their depression.

This is because the gene does not allow people to change the synthetic forms of vitamin B12 and folic acid, which are often contained in fortified foods and almost all ‘cheap’ multivitamins, into the active forms in their blood that they need, and these 'pre-vitamins' buildup and become toxic byproducts in the blood rather than being converted into a form usable by the cells of the body. In other words, taking vitamins and eating packaged foods could be making those with the MTHFR gene toxic and sick!

Could Pyrrole Disease be (mis)diagnosed at Huntington's Disease?

Thank you for writing and sharing about this topic. 💚 As someone on the Autism spectrum, I'd like to share an article I wrote with you., if you have the time + interest.

It involves the synergistic effects between metals and other pollutants inside our bodies with non-native Electromagnetic Radiation. I made incredible improvements by minimizing exposures to Wireless Radiation. My cat showed improvements as well, both behaviorally and physically. https://reclaimedwellness.substack.com/p/lets-talk-about-synergistic-effects

This link shows the clinical correlates and health photos of EMF injury / Environmental Illness: https://reclaimedwellness.substack.com/p/wireless-radiation-a-missing-piece

Best of life and continued good health to you! Thank you again.

I don't have a child with Autism but I know many people who do. It breaks my heart. Thank you for this information and your great work.

Fascinating. I didn't know about pyroluria.

You must know about transdermal copper supplementation. Steve Fowkes has been promoting this for years, mainly for arthitis pain, which I don't know if has any analgesic power, but that cream has a beautiful color.

Amandha, do you know if zinc can also be absorbed through the skin?

I know there are these petroleum jelly based creams for irritation (like skin diaper rash) which contain zinc oxide. As bas as the dozens of petroleum derived compounds are, that cream helped me cure one foot one time. These days, after all I've read, I would use only natural remedies without any petroleum compound to heal that kind of problem.

Sometimes I think that we may be meant to absorb some oligoelements through direct contact with the skin. Taking a mud bath must be the most economically rational decision in a 45 ºC sumemr day.

I know that non-nano zinc is what we use for topicals to avoid too much absorption of the zinc into the skin. It doesn't seem to go into the body, however: https://lpi.oregonstate.edu/mic/health-disease/skin-health/minerals#topical-application I am sure it would be easy to make a transdermal zinc product but unsure about the bioavailability to the body in that manner.

Could epilepsy also be a result of this?

Potentially, yes, as those deficiencies can be linked to seizure activity. As an example of B6 deficiency, there are 4 types of seizures that are seen: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19760909/

I had a case of a young boy (age 5) with seizures who had MTHFR deficiency and pyrrole disorder and those nutritional corrections halted the seizures.

Thanks Amandha! My 16 year old son thinks I have ADHD. I will have to get tested!

You may want to get a test for heavy metal toxicity and mineral ratios as well. I did a hair tissue mineral analysis a few years ago. It showed I had a VERY high, toxic level, of copper. I had horrible MCS, EHS, tinnitis. I felt like a hyper-anxious walking antenna! I was very conductive, literally. After 8 months of a changed diet and supplementation, my copper level reduced to a 'normal' 'average' level, and all other mineral ratios were more in balance. The ratios are really important! After 7 years of tinnitis, I fell asleep to the sweet sound of silence. 🙏
